This is the first year of a new format. Previously Victory issued a Top 100 list, and Ĵý had earned placement there for five straight years.
The Military-Friendly Employers designation includes extensive research and a data-driven survey of corporations nationally. According to Victory, the survey, methodology, criteria and weightings are created with the aid of an independent advisory council and tested by EY.

Companies received consideration for this list via a data-driven survey of thousands of companies with resulting survey data independently tested by Ernst & Young LLP based upon the weightings and methodology established by Victory Media.
Criteria for the survey included a benchmark score across key programs and policies such as the strength of company military recruiting efforts, the percentage of new hires with prior military service, retention programs and company policies on National Guard and Reserve service.
“Companies that have earned the 2016 Military-Friendly Employer award have exceptionally strong hiring programs and meaningful careers for transitioning service members and spouses,” said Daniel Nichols, chief product officer of Victory Media and Navy Reserve veteran.
Ĵý was No. 91 overall and achieved an industry rank of 13th.

The magazine recognizes military friendly companies that demonstrate commitment to recruiting America’s veterans. Ĵý ranked 68th on the overall 2014 Top 100 list.

How Does Ĵý Support the Military?

Ĵý actively recruits veterans nationwide by promoting employment opportunities in military publications, on veterans’ job boards and at military virtual and in-person career fairs.
Ĵý has increased its veteran hiring at a rate of approximately 2 percent year over year since 2010. To date this year, 13 percent of Ĵý new-hires were veterans, filling technician, vehicle maintenance supervisor/manager, driver, and and . Almost 1,100 associates are veterans.
Support of Associate Reservists
Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an agency of the U.S. Department of the Defense, recognizes Ĵý for supporting associates who serve in the military. So far this year, 37 Ĵý associates have been on military leave. Ten are presently serving.

Mitchell, a former active duty U.S. Army staff sergeant, is now a captain in the Army National Guard. He has served in the Michigan National Guard since 2006. Since joining Ĵý, he has been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
