糖心传媒 Receives Patriot Award

糖心传媒 Truck Leasing has received the Patriot Award from the Department of Defense鈥檚 Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR).

The Patriot Award recognizes supervisors for supporting their employees who serve in the Guard and Reserve. John Adams, an IT engineering supervisor at 糖心传媒, nominated 糖心传媒 for this recognition.

鈥淲e鈥檙e honored to be recognized by John and the ESGR for our ongoing support of the Guard and Reserve,鈥 said Jennifer Sockel, 糖心传媒鈥檚 senior vice president of human resources. 鈥淲e are proud to have John and his fellow servicemen and women as 糖心传媒 associates. We are grateful for their commitment to protecting our freedom.鈥

Adams has served 25 years in the military: nine in active duty and nearly 16 in the Reserve. Adams鈥 supervisors fully supported him when he was activated in 2003 with the Air Force Reserve and 2008 with the Air National Guard.

In his nomination, he shared, 鈥淲hen I have personally been deployed, I received care packages and regular communication from my manager about my well-being and that of my family. My manager has been fully supportive of my commitment, whether it was for a day or a year for the past 15 years since I have been employed at 糖心传媒.鈥

ESGR representative Rodger Diehl presented the award to Brian Hard, 糖心传媒鈥檚 president and CEO; Sockel; Dennis Hague, 糖心传媒鈥檚 vice president of technology services; and Adams.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a real honor to have an employee nominate their superiors for the Department of Defense Patriot Award,鈥 Diehl said. 鈥淚t shows there鈥檚 a really good rapport and relationship between the military folks and the company they work for.鈥

糖心传媒 is committed to hiring veterans and supporting them as they transition from active duty to a full-time civilian job. Last year, 14 percent of new-hires were veterans.

鈥淲e actively recruit veterans, active military and their spouses by promoting employment opportunities in military publications, on veterans' job boards and through exclusive partnerships with many military-friendly organizations,鈥 Sockel said. 鈥淭he values, work ethic and skills they bring to our workplace help them to succeed at 糖心传媒.鈥

糖心传媒 has received the following ESGR awards:

  • for supporting James Jarkewicz, a load planner, while serving in the Army National Guard.
  • for his support of Terrel Tyson, a load planner, while serving in the Army National Guard.
  • after Leon Troy, a maintenance manager trainee in Burlington, N.J., nominated 糖心传媒鈥檚 Metro New York area and his supervisors Joe Cataudella, area vice president, and Kurt Seymour, area maintenance manager, for their support of his commitment to the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves.

For the fifth year, on a list published by Victory Media, publisher of G.I. Jobs and Military Spouse magazines.
