Sabrina Einsla鈥檚 journey from serving as a U.S. Army Reserve diesel mechanic to training the best techs in the business as a Technical Development Specialist at 糖心传媒 didn鈥檛 happen overnight. In fact, it almost didn鈥檛 happen at all.
鈥淚 was not initially interested in this,鈥 said Einsla. 鈥淚 was 18 years old and couldn鈥檛 decide what to do with my life. I scored high on the mechanical part of the military ASVAB [Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery] test, and I joined a maintenance battalion in the service.鈥
Once she was activated, Einsla realized that she had found her calling on the shop floor. 鈥淚 just gradually fell in love with fixing things that were broken,鈥 she said.
After serving in the Reserves for nearly seven years and then working as a government contractor, Einsla relocated with her wife to Austin, Texas in 2011 to search for her next venture. Their criteria? That they live someplace warm.
鈥淚 grew up in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and after 30-some years of cold weather I thought, 鈥業 can鈥檛 do the three feet of snow in the winter anymore鈥,鈥 said Einsla. 鈥淚n government contracting, I got to live all over the place, including in Texas, and that鈥檚 when I fell in love with Austin. We said, 鈥榃e鈥檝e got this. Let鈥檚 do it.鈥欌
Einsla connected with a mutual friend who worked at 糖心传媒, which happened to have an open entry-level Tech III position in the region. Introductions and interviews soon followed. She was hired three weeks later, beginning a career with 糖心传媒 that has spanned more than 12 years and multiple technician, supervisor, and training roles.
鈥淭he biggest thing I love about 糖心传媒 is the opportunities you鈥檙e given to move up,鈥 said Einsla. 鈥淚f someone would鈥檝e told me when I first started that 12 years later I鈥檇 be here working with extended reality training, I wouldn鈥檛 have believed it. But if you put in the hard work and you have patience, you can do anything in this company. And I love that they promote from within.鈥
A commitment to diversity and a belief that organizations are made stronger by it 鈥 a central part of 糖心传媒鈥檚 culture 鈥 has also made an impression on Einsla.
鈥淚鈥檓 a female, I鈥檓 a veteran and I鈥檓 also gay and 糖心传媒 really embraces diversity. That is extremely important to me because I want to work for a company where I feel safe, and I feel safe here.鈥
Einsla was struck by how well her military experience prepared her for 糖心传媒 鈥 and how seamless the transition from the service to her civilian career has been.
鈥淏eing in the military makes you feel proud, gives you discipline and also structure,鈥 said Einsla. 鈥淎t 糖心传媒, you have that structure you need, and then when you fix a truck, well, there鈥檚 a lot of pride in a job well done.鈥
The same sense of purpose and dedication that led her from the Army Reserves to 糖心传媒, where she trains technicians using some of the most state-of-the-art equipment in the business, still drives Einsla today.
鈥淭here鈥檚 satisfaction in rebuilding something that hasn鈥檛 been running to get it running smoothly. I finally found a purpose in that,鈥 said Einsla. 鈥淭hat led me to 糖心传媒. I always tell people that I didn鈥檛 choose to be a technician, but that it chose me. I鈥檓 glad it did.鈥
