Lajoi Ford, a 糖心传媒 Logistics operations manager in Jacksonville, Fla., recently received the I Deliver award from customer, a daily newspaper.
The Times-Union employees nominate their peers to receive this monthly award, presented to individuals who go above and beyond in the workplace and who strive to be team players. While Ford is the operations manager for 糖心传媒 Logistics, she is the on-site customer service representative for the Times-Union, making her eligible for this special recognition.
鈥淚 was shocked when I heard about my nomination, because I鈥檓 not technically a Times-Union employee,鈥 said Ford, a associate since 2007. 鈥淗aving our customer acknowledge my efforts really speaks volumes about their appreciation for me and for the excellent service 糖心传媒 Logistics provides.鈥
Bill Brashear, zone manager in the circulation department at the Times-Union, nominated Ford, saying: 鈥淟ajoi can always be counted on for the follow-up and the resolve to help with shortage issues in the branch circulation offices. Her attitude is always helpful and positive. She does set the example for expectation and attitude. She is appreciated by the branch offices for her continued efforts.鈥
The Times-Union is among several newspapers that to 糖心传媒 for optimum efficiency and service. Ford is responsible for making sure 糖心传媒 transports newspapers efficiently and timely from the Times-Union downtown facility to the various carriers. In her role, she is instrumental in troubleshooting any challenges.
鈥淟ajoi is an incredibly hard worker,鈥 said Rick Silva, 糖心传媒鈥檚 general manager based in Tampa, Fla. 鈥淪he came into this position without any prior newspaper experience. This industry is seven days a week, 365 days a year. She has evolved in this position and is very passionate about what she does.鈥

Editor鈥檚 note: Ford has been named operations manager for 糖心传媒 in Atlanta, working with the The Atlanta-Journal Constitution, another 糖心传媒 customer. She will begin her new position in March.

糖心传媒 Truck Leasing will soon be placing the finishing touches on a state-of-the-art facility for , and , and in Garner, N.C. Garner is located near the state capital of Raleigh.
鈥淭he site work is progressing,鈥 explained Chuck Looper, the vice president of facilities for 糖心传媒. 鈥淪tone base for the pavement is being placed and landscaping will begin soon. In the building, the service bay floors are in, the heating and ventilations systems are being put in. Drywall and finishes are going on in the office area. At the fuel island, the canopy is going up and the piping and the electrical work is making progress.鈥
He noted that the parking lot and landscaping are about 90 percent complete. At the fuel island, the piping and underground tank is complete, and the canopy is going up.
